To carry out its duties, the FOC comprises two divisions: one for the ‘Preservation and Showcasing of the National Heritage,’ and one for ‘Cultural Creation and Diversity.’ The FOC promotes artistic creation, notably in the realms of cinema, art and design, supports and encourages the education of young Swiss people from abroad, supports projects pursued by different linguistic and cultural communities, upholds the interests of the national heritage and the preservation of historic buildings and monuments, draws up the Confederation’s cultural policy.
